Frequently Asked Questions​ (For New Customers)

General

​​1.​​
How will the new billing arrangement with SP benefit Sembcorp Power residential customers?
You can now enjoy the convenience of having one consolidated utilities bill. On top of that, other benefits include:
  • ​Clearer indication of the utilization of U-Save and/or other rebates provided by Government
  • Easy access for multiple users via the SP Group utilities mobile application
  • Reflection of actual meter reading taken by meter reader in the invoice
2.​ When will the billing arrangement with SP Services take place?
You can enjoy one consolidated bill for all your utilities service with SP Services in 2024. We will update you again before the implementation of the new billing arrangement.​


U-Save

1.​​​
Do I need to make any arrangements with SP Services to utilise U-Save rebates for Sembcorp Power charges?
You do not need to contact SP Services to utilise your U-Save for Sembcorp Power charges. The U-Save rebates will be automatically utilised to offset the charges in the SP bill.


Security Deposit

​How do I know the Security deposit amount if I apply with Sembcorp Power?
​For new sign-ups that take place before our new billing arrangement with SP takes effect:

The initial Security Deposit required will be advised based on your housing type during application. Your existing Security deposit will be transferred to the relevant SP Services account after the new billing arrangement with SP takes effect.

For new sign-ups that occur after our new billing arrangement with SP takes effect:

You are not required to provide a Security Deposit to us during your application.

​I am currently with another electricity retailer, am I still required to provide a Security deposit when I sign up with Sembcorp Power now?
For new sign-ups that take place before our new billing arrangement with SP takes effect:

You will still be required to provide a Security deposit with us during your application. Your Security deposit with us will be then be subsequently transferred to the relevant SP Services account after the new billing arrangement with SP takes effect.

For new sign-ups that occur after our new billing arrangement with SP takes effect:

You are not required to provide a Security Deposit to us during your application.

However, if you are transferring to us from another retailer who does not engage SP as its billing agent, you will be required to top up the security deposit with SP Group which had been partially refunded to you previously when you switched retailer.

If your current retailer also engages SP as its billing agent, there will be no requirement to top up your security deposit with SP Group.

I am currently with SP, am I still required to provide a Security deposit when I sign up with Sembcorp Power now?
​For new sign-ups that take place before our new billing arrangement with SP takes effect:

You will still be required to provide a Security deposit with us during your application.

Your Security deposit with us will be then be subsequently transferred to the relevant SP Services account after the new billing arrangement with SP takes effect.

For new sign-ups that occur after our new billing arrangement with SP takes effect:

There will be no requirement to top up your security deposit with SP Group.


Payment

What are the payment methods offer by SP Services after the new billing arrangement takes place?
Your existing arrangement with SP Services continue, no change is required.

Please refer to below list of SP payment methods:
  • ​Recurring payment using Giro and credit card
  • Self-help machines such as SAMs, NETS Self-Service Stations, AXS Stations
  • Internet Banking services from DBS, UOB, OCBC & Citibank
  • SP Counter Payment services & 7-Eleven stores
  • SP Utilities App

Billing

How do I request for hardcopy invoice after the new billing arrangement with SP Services and is it chargeable?
​If you are currently on hardcopy arrangement with SP Services, there will be no changes. If you are not on hardcopy arrangement, you may change the invoice communication via the SP Group Utilities application, once logged in, click “More”, select “Bill Services”, and click “Update Mailing Address”. This will allow you to change to hardcopy billing or to online billing.

Please be reminded to enter the mailing address when selecting “Hardcopy”, followed by the “Save” button.

Currently, SP do not charge for hardcopy invoice arrangement.

Renewal

How do I renew my contract with Sembcorp Power?
​You can login to Sembcorp Customer Portal to renew your contract. Sembcorp Power will send out a renewal notice to your registered email address at least 60 days before your contract expiry date.
